Rawalpindi: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed has said that the Kashmir dispute should be resolved as per UN resolutions, adding that lasting peace in the region is not possible without resolving the dispute as per the aspirations of Kashmiris.
According to details, DG ISPR Major General Babar Iftikhar released a message of Army Chief General Qamar Javed on the occasion of Kashmir Exploitation Day from his official Twitter handle.
General Qamar Javed Bajwa said that the continuation of violations of human rights as well as of international laws in the Indian occupied Kashmir posed a threat to the regional peace adding India also attempts to bring demographic changes in the occupied territory which will further aggravate the crisis rather than solving it.
Continuation of inhuman military siege, machinations to bring demographic changes and gross violations of human rights and international laws are perpetuating humanitarian and security crises in Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir that imperil regional security.
The situation poses a serious threat to the security of the region, COAS General Qamar Javed Bajwa said and added that Resolution of Kashmir dispute as per UN resolutions and aspirations of Kashmiri people is imperative for enduring peace and stability in the region.
It may be recalled that two years have passed since the revocation of Article 370 by the Modi-led BJP government and Indian curfew in occupied Jammu and Kashmir. On this occasion, Kashmir Exploitation Day is being observed all over the world including Pakistan.
