Pakistan Day or Pakistan Resolution Day is the day we commemorate the Lahore Resolution passed on 23 March 1940 and the adoption of the first constitution of Pakistan during the transition of the Dominion of Pakistan to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan on 23 March 1956 making Pakistan the world's first Islamic republic.

No matter what we say or think, Pakistan is our home, We have the great privilege of calling ourselves Pakistanis, the sovereign citizens of a sovereign country, and we cannot thank Almighty Allah enough for this huge blessing! We might go through ups and down, but Pakistan is our identity, and that must be cherished.

We must realise, all privileges come with great responsibilities. Only if each one of us, whoever we might be, whatever occupation we might belong to, gave our absolute best with the right intentions, it won't be long before our contemporary challenges will turn into opportunities and Pakistan, the state will realise its true potential. All Pakistanis must join hands and work together for the betterment of our homeland.

The true commemoration of Pakistan Day is to reiterate our pledge towards those ideals that led to the creation of our beloved homeland. It is an occasion to pay tribute to our great leaders who withstood all adversities but remained steadfast in their mission to secure a separate homeland for the Muslims of the sub-continent. The day is also an occasion to pass on the thought behind the creation of the state and to prepare the future architects achieve and uphold those noble ideals.

We must not forget the fact that unparalleled democratic struggle by our ancestors was aimed at providing the Muslims of the sub-continent a place where they could develop to the fullest spiritual, cultural, economic, social, and political life in a way that they thought best and in consonance with their own ideals and genius. Let us always hold high the banners of democracy, constitutionalism and rule of law through which this state was created.

We must follow the guiding principles of 'father of the nation' Quaid-I-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah - unity, faith and discipline and transform the country into a strong democracy to face the ever changing global challenges. Our collective efforts marked by patriotism, sincerity, commitment and honesty would help us steering our country towards greater prosperity and glory.

Pakistan was passing through a critical stage in the history, however, our resilient government and armed forces and people of Pakistan had braved the daunting challenges with the spirit of one nation. We must preserve our great cultural heritage and national identity and make our earnest efforts for bringing about economic and social revival in Pakistan. Let's pray to Almighty Allah to enable us to protect Pakistan and put it on the road of progress and prosperity.
