Ghulam Mustafa Farooqi is an artist, painter, calligraphist, computer graphic designer. His romance with art dates back to 1960. Mr. Farooqi made history when first time in the world, he inscribed Kalma-e-Tayyaba on a grain of rice, which was presented to King Faisal of Saudi Arabia in the Presence of President of Pakistan, Field Marshal late Mohammad Ayub Khan. He has held several solo exhibitions and also has participated in group shows. He has worked with the top class advertising agencies as an art director in Pakistan.

Mr. Farooqi’s paintings & calligraphy has created a new style of Pakistani art depicting the rural life of our toiling peasants and artisans, called as the low class, which he calls the deprived classes of his Great Pakistan. He has a burning desire, and a longing to find a chance, an opportunity to show the misery, the pains of life, our rural folk suffer in every day life. How, they are victimized & exploited to live a life of poverty & extreme deprivation.

Ghulam Mustafa wants to show how their lives are devoid of even small happiness. How they barely survive during their span of life. He himself has gone through these stages of pain as an artist. An artist is always a deep, sensitive human being. In his paintings he has tried to capture all these human feelings. He has preserved the real culture of Pakistan. Mr. Farooqi says, although he has suffered a lot of failures due to not having adequate recognition in the art circles of Pakistan, he has not lost all his hopes in Glasgow, UK where he arrived in 1999.
