Dr. Gholam Mujtaba

Dr. Gholam Mujtaba, is a politician, who has the experience of politics in both Pakistan as well as in the United States of America. He and his team, with the help of Pakistani American expatriates are working to play a positive role to improve the economy of Pakistan, internal security, religious harmony, equal opportunity, corruption free society, transparency and accountability in line with the basic ideology of Pakistan. Born in Karachi, Dr. Mujtaba received the best possible education in Pakistan. He went to Rajshahi Cadet College, where he excelled in academics and extra-curricular activities. He was a top debater with various national awards. He was elected to the Karachi University Students Union as General Secretary and was a member of the University Senate and Syndicate. He was one of the foremost student leaders of Pakistan in 1976 -78. He played a leading role in the Pakistan National Alliance Movement as a student leader. Doctor of Science (DSc) Georgetown, Doctor of Medicine (MD) Georgetown, Master of Science in Pharmacology (MSc) King's College University of London and Bachelor of Pharmacy University of Karachi, Dr. Gholam Mujtaba is also the Fellow of Royal Society of Public Health (FRSPH) Great Britain, Fellow Inter American College of Physicians & Surgeons (FICPS), USA, and Fellow of the former Royal Society for the Promotion of Health (FRSH), Great Britain. He is also the author of a number of publications on cardiovascular Pharmacology. He was a Lecturer in the Department of Pharmacology, University of Karachi and served as President Pharmacy Teachers Association Pakistan. He represented Pakistan at the 5th South Asian Regional Conference of Pharmacology in Beijing, China. After serving as an Advisor to Chief Minister Sindh, Dr. Gholam Mujtaba migrated to United States. He served the Reserve Officers Training Corps of the US Army (ROTC) and was the 'Distinguished Honour Graduate' of the US Army Academy of Health Sciences, Fort Sam, Texas. He has been in the United States for the past 30 years, and is a senior leader of the Republican Party of the United States and a Member of the President's Circle of the American Security Council Foundation, a position few Pakistanis could attain in one of the leading democracies of the world. Certainly, it's a matter of pride for Pakistan. Dr. Gholam Mujtaba demands an audit of the U.S. civil aid to Pakistan, and to investigate the kickbacks through contractors and third parties in the process. A financial trail of fugitives living abroad is demanded under money-laundering laws of the United States for U.S. receivables in Pakistan. He is open to float a new alliance, an alliance with existing political forces holding a better record to serve Pakistan's interest. But again for that alliance, return of Pakistan's looted wealth, repatriation of Pakistani fugitives averting prosecution, transparency and accountability are a prelude. Dr. Gholam Mujtaba pleads, Pakistan should maintain its favourite status with the United States, and should not allow India to injure it. The relationship should be based on mutual respect and long-term strategic partnership and India should understand that Pakistan is a United States ally. He quotes; on May 16, 1947 U.S. Department of State announced opening a Consulate General in Lahore 3 months before Pakistan's independence. This showed how much U.S. gives importance to Pakistan. The Indian dream of dismantling this relationship either through conspiracies from within Pakistan or external threats is doomed to fail. The New Delhi trained terrorists would fail to camouflage their crime on the American shoulders. Following the events of 9/11, Pakistan has had been a major proponent of Anti-terrorist laws, and is working hard to eliminate terrorism from the region. Thus, it is incumbent upon Pakistan to defeat terrorists whether it is Taliban, Al Qaeda or a terrorist organization functioning within Pakistan. Any organization threatening the life and security of our citizens, while their leaders enjoy sanctuary in world capitals with pending cases of heinous crimes need to be taken to task. Our region should not be allowed to function as a hotbed to terrorist activities. Dr. Mujtaba has a wide range of experience in teaching, politics and business. He is a Member of the Chairman's Advisory Board, a senior leadership forum of the Republican National Committee of the United States. He is committed to bridge the gap arising through conflicts around the globe. The ideas of radicalism and hatred propagated by the followers of Taliban and Bin Laden are in contravention to the basic tenets of Islam, he believes. Islam is a peace loving religion and its followers have to be tolerant and liberal. The basic teachings of Abraham's doctrine, is the very doctrine that unites the three great religions Islam, Judaism and Christianity. The Middle East conflict needs an amicable and harmonious resolution, and American dream of two states living side by side at peace has to emerge. Suicide bombings and act of terror have to be denounced for a stable and secure Middle East. Dr. Mujtaba commends the United States foreign policy in Bosnia, where US intervention marginalized losses of human life and human sufferings. He is convinced that the US foreign policy is balanced, it supports Muslims where there are excesses, and controls any aggression damaging world peace based on radical ideology. Based on his spotless and successful track record in politics, he believes that he may play a vital role to bridge the gap between the US and the Muslim world in the new US administration's policy making in bringing peace in Afghanistan and Iraq. He commends the role of the United States President Barrack Hussein Obama in his balanced foreign policy, and appeals to the Muslim world to give room to the U.S President to succeed in maintaining world order.
