Prof. Dr. Hafiz Muhammad Iqbal, who is currently Dean Faculty of Education at the University of Punjab, studied at the University of London, where he earned his MA in Science Education. He then completed his PhD in Science Education from University of the Punjab, Lahore.
Subsequently, Dr. Iqbal went to America for Postdoctoral in educational Psychology as Fulbright Fellowship from University of Texas, Austin. He has also worked with Ministry of Education and UNESCO on various projects related to education. He is member of different national and international educational organizations.
The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has bestowed the Best University Teacher Award for the year 2009 on Punjab University’s Faculty of Education Dean Prof. Dr. Hafiz Muhammad Iqbal in recognition of his contribution and performance in the field of education and research.
The award consisting of a certificate and cash prize of Rs 100,000 was given Dr. Hafiz Muhammad Iqbal in a ceremony held on December 1, 2010. Prof. Dr. Hafiz Muhammad Iqbal has published more than 50 articles / papers in journals of international repute and has over 30 years of varsity teaching experience to his credit for promoting the cause of education in the country.
In acknowledgement of his outstanding contribution, the Government of Pakistan also awarded him a civil award “Izaz-e-Fazeelat” in 2007.
