Currently the Reader in School of Education, University of Leicester, Dr. Saeeda Shah is one of the leading academics in the field of educational leadership. She gained her Master in Education (Med) from Manchester and went on to complete her PhD from Nottingham. She teaching/supervising Masters and Doctoral students and contributing to other professional development programmes at the University of Leicester.
Previously she has taught for many years in higher education in Pakistan, holding senior management positions. Prior to arriving at the University of Leicester, Dr. Saeeda was Dean at the University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir. She was awarded the Best University Teacher Millennium Award 2000 by the University Grants Commission, Pakistan.
Besides multiple roles and responsibilities, Dr. Saeeda is Programme Leader for Msc Educational Leadership (Distance Learning) and teaches related areas on educational leadership and management programmes. She is also Programme leader for PhD for 2013-2014, teaches on the EdD programme and supervises a number of doctoral students from the UK and overseas.
In addition to her responsibilities at the University of Leicester, Dr. Saeeda holds many external positions including Visiting Professor of Education at the University of Derby, Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA), Member editorial board journal of Education and Research (Pakistan), Member editorial board International Journal of Leadership and Policy in Schools (USA) and many more.
She is continually sought after for conference presentations and media comments and has presented widely in many international conferences across the world, including the United Nations Human Rights Commission Geneva, and is member of Women Leading Education of the University Council for Educational Administration USA and British Educational Leadership, Management and Administration Society UK, along with many other organisations.
