Pakistan Air Force (PAF) Flying Officer Junaid Saleem is honoured to achieve the distinction of winning the Best Overseas Cadet Award at Britain's Royal Air Force (RAF) College at Cranwell in the United Kingdom. Toby Dennis, Her Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of Lincolnshire presented him with the award at a special ceremony. He was successfully commissioned on June 18, 2015.
Junaid Saleem attributed his success to the training he received at Pakistan Air Force Academy Risalpur and his parents' prayers. He said that such a success was testimony to the high professional standards of Pakistan Air Force which had always stood up to its reputation with pride. He pledged to keep up the high standards of professionalism set by Pakistan Air Force throughout his career.
The officer expressed his firm resolve to serve the nation in line with the traditions of PAF. He said that his achievement would further boost the morale of the armed forces of Pakistan who were engaged in bringing about peace and stability in the country by fighting extremism and terrorism.
Pakistan High Commission in UK arranged a brief ceremony to celebrate the achievement of Junaid Saleem in London. Speaking on the occasion, Pakistan High Commissioner to the UK H.E. Syed Ibne Abbas congratulated the officer on his remarkable success that brought about a good name for Pakistan.
The High Commissioner said the officer's success was a testimony to the high professional standards of PAF which had always stood up to its reputation. The high commissioner remarked, it is a proud moment not only for the Pakistan Air Force, but for the whole nation. This also shows that our educational and training institutions are second to none and can impart excellence in various fields, as manifested in Junaid's success.
