Sara Abbasi is President of Developments in Literacy (DIL) Executive Board. In 2001, Sara established DIL’s San Francisco chapter. DIL is a U.S. based non-profit organization dedicated to the advancement of female literacy in the remote areas of Pakistan.

 

Sara serves on the boards of One Nation, The World Affairs Council of Northern California, Stanford University Islamic Studies Program, and Menlo School. With her board affiliations, Sara has been actively involved in several initiatives with a particular focus on education and cross cultural understanding.

 

Ms. Abbasi and her husband endowed The Abbasi Programme in Islamic Studies at Stanford University in 2003. The Abbasi Programme aims to promote better understanding of Islam, Muslims and Islamic civilization.

 

Ms. Abbasi holds a B.A. in Business Administration from Santa Clara University and a M.A. in International Relations from Golden Gate University.
