Hailing from a well-known background of philanthropy, an eminent businessman and renowned industrialist, Abdul Kader Jaffer holds a Diploma in Business Administration from London. He is Director of many business and industrial concerns in Pakistan such as Shah Murad Sugar Mills Ltd, Agricultural Aviation Ltd, Granular Limited, Aircraft Sales & Service Ltd and Baker’s Pride. Currently he is Chairman Ahmed Jaffer Group of Companies.

Between 2000 and 2003, he served as Pakistan’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom. In 1971, the Government of Pakistan awarded him the Tamgha-e-Khidmat for services to the nation. Abdul Kader Jaffer has represented Government of Brazil in Karachi since March, 1971 as Honorary Consul. In 1988, The President of Brazil conferred upon him the nation’s high award “Commander of the Southern Cross”.

Mr Jaffer also received the high award “Chevalier De l’Ordre National Du Merite” (Knight of the Merit Order) from the Government of France in 1995. This prestigious award was given to him for promoting trade relations between Pakistan and France. He has actively engaged in fostering Pakistan’s economic interests by establishing and serving on several bilateral business forums. Mr Jaffer served as President of the English Speaking Union of Pakistan from 1996 to 2000.

Abdul Kader Jaffer takes active part in social and cultural and diplomatic activities. He served as the President of Pakistan France Business Alliance thrice. He served as the Chairman of the Federation of Chamber of Commerce & Industry for five years. He is a member of the Sindh Club, Karachi Gymkhana, Karachi Boat Club and Golf Club of Karachi. He has travelled abroad extensively.

Adbul Kader Jaffer’s work has been recognized nationally and internationally. The Government of Pakistan conferred the Tamgha-e-Khimat in 1971. He is the son of late Mr. Ahmed E.H. Jaffer. He was born on 17th April, 1937.

Abdul Kader Jaffer formed the Ahmed E.H. Jaffer Foundation in 1996 in memory of his late father. The Foundation has initiated a not-for-profit School of Excellence "THE HUB SCHOOL" a boarding school for 800 boys, which will surpass existing standards of education in Pakistan. This will be followed by a boarding school for girls and finally a university of national importance on the outskirts of Karachi on 240 acres of valuable land donated by the Jaffer family.

Education is a Jaffer family's legacy to Pakistan. The Islamia School in Pune was founded in 1907 by Abdul Kader Jaffer's great grandfather, Khan Bahadur Haroon Jaffer. His grandfather, Sir Ebrahim Haroon Jaffer organised the first Muslim Educational Conference in 1920. His late father, Ahmed E.H. Jaffer introduced educational reforms as a member of the Indian Legislative Assembly in 1940 and later; after partition, in the Pakistan Legislative Assembly he raised several bills and motions for improvement and increase in allocation for the education sector.

The Hub School is a quality educational institution that has been established by the Ahmed E. H. Jaffer Foundation to prepare boys for a life of leadership, service and personal fulfilment. Academic achievement is foremost amongst the Hub School's objectives with an aim to maintain and surpass existing standards of educational excellence in Pakistan. The goal is to promote independence of thought, respect for others and instil creativity and responsibility within a broad range of activities.
