Anwar Mansoor

Anwar Mansoor Khan has served as a judge, attorney general Sindh, and many other high profile assignments including the attorney general of Pakistan. Mansoor is a law graduate and his papers were published in the documentation of the SAARC Law Conference held in Sri Lanka in 1990 on Protection of Minority in the companies Ordinance 1984. His paper was also published in the documentation of the SAARC Law Conference held in Pakistan in 1992 on Islamic Banking in Pakistan. Paper read on the protection of lunatics under the Lunacy Act at Karachi.

He was commissioned as an Officer in the Pakistan Army in 1971. Anwar Mansoor Khan served in the Pakistan Army from 1971 to 1974, fought the 1971 War, and resigned in 1973. He was released in October 1974.

He has been practicing as a lawyer since 1981 in all courts of Pakistan. Enrolled as Advocate on 26.08.1981, Mansoor was enrolled in High Courts on 31.12.1983 and later enrolled with Supreme Court in August, 2000.

He became a judge of the High Court of Sindh form 10.10.2000 and resigned on 3.10.2001, to rejoin Law Practice.. He also remained Advocate General of Sindh from 11.11.2002 and served till 01.10.2007. He was granted status of senior Advocate of Supreme Court of Pakistan on 22.10.2009.

He is a member of Pakistan Bar Council, Member Sindh Bar Council, Member High Court Bar Association and Member Karachi Bar Association. He is also Secretary of the High Court Bar Association.

He has been associated in the drafting of the Companies Ordinance, 1984, the establishment of the Islamic Banking Systems, the establishment of lease financing in Pakistan, drafting of the Recovery Laws of Banks.

Khan has been involved in international negotiation and drawing of various agreements in consequence thereof. He has advised on takeovers, acquisitions and buyouts of various companies and has and continues to conduct various merger proceedings.
