Holder of a Masters’ degree from the University of Balochistan in Quetta, and a Masters in International Studies and Diplomacy from the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London, Asif Ali Khan Durrani is a career diplomat. He is the current Ambassador of Pakistan to the United Arab Emirates.

Durrani presented his credentials as ambassador on 4 February 2014 and assumed the responsibility as top Pakistani diplomat in the country replacing Jamil Ahmed Khan.

Asif Khan Durrani joined the Pakistan Foreign Service in 1986 and has held various diplomatic assignments in Pakistan missions including Second Secretary in New Delhi, First Secretary in Tehran, Counsellor in New York, Minister/Deputy Head of Mission in Kabul and Deputy High Commissioner in London.

He also served at the headquarters as Section Officer, Director UN and Disarmament and Director General (UN) besides serving as Additional Secretary (Foreign Affairs) in President’s Secretariat from Feb.2012 till Aug.2013 before taking on the 99th National Management College (NMC) Course in August, 2013.
