Captain Asfandyar Bukhari was fighting valiantly during the on-going operation against terrorists at PAF base camp, Badaber, Peshawar, where he was hit by bullets and embraced martyrdom. He was leading his troops from the front during the operation. The 27 year old Captain hailed from Attock.
Commander of 48th Jinnah Wing Entry, Asfandyar Bukhari received the Sword of Honour in 2009, when he was passed out from PMA 118 long course. He was a brilliant cadet and was awarded many awards during his cadet-ship. He was awarded Tactics Medal as well.
He remained Vice Captain of his college hockey team and played Punjab under-19 hockey.
He was chess champion at college, president of the biology club, editor of the college magazine and remained member of the board of editors for five years.
