Captain Junaid Khan Shaheed, who has given new meanings to bravery, courage, grace and perseverance, was the only son of Mr and Mrs Ayyaz Khan. A loving brother of four sisters was born on May 09, 1983 in Quetta. He spent his early years of learning in Ankara, Turkey and from there he did his Secondary education. Later on when his parents moved back to Pakistan, he continued his higher studies from F.G College Quetta.

He joined Pakistan Army in 110 Long Course in 2002 and was commissioned in the year 2004 in 30 Azad Kashmir Infantry Regiment. In 2005, Capt Junaid joined SSG (special services group) due to sheer motivation and fondness for adventure, challenge and daring ventures.

Capt Junaid Khan and Capt Najam riaz also a special services group captain and two soldiers on a special task were covertly operating in the Malakand district. On 19th April, 2009, they moved out from the Khawzakhela camp and met a test of their life when they were surrounded by the Taliban commander Khitaab but they didn't retaliated as per the so called Nizam-e- Adal Peace agreement.

The moment Captain Junaid Shaheed, Captain Najam Shaheed and two soldiers were ensnared in utter violation of the Peace Agreement, they realised the moment of trial has come. The commandos had broken the necks of eight Taliban in the room where they were kept after they realized that they were about to be beheaded. They fought like real heroes, but two guards standing outside the room had sprayed bullets on them, which led to their martyrdom.

Junaid Khan's father Professor Ayaz Khan, a veteran civil servant and a teacher, grew up his family in ambience of a true patriotism and nationalism. Pakistan was the most adored darling, nurtured and fostered in tiny heart and souls of all his siblings.

Entering the joyous era of youth and adolescence, Junaid not opted for pleasure and delight, rather worked day and night to join Pakistan Army.  Junaid Khan was very, disciplined, motivated and dedicated Commando. He sacrificed his life in the line of duty for our motherland, for our sake. May Allah bless all these martyrs!
