A Gold Medallist and achiever of presidential award for securing over all first position in AJK PSC in 1998, Dr Muhammad Hanif (FCMA) is Assistant Professor at National University of Computer & Emerging Sciences in Islamabad. He has served as Manager Finance at a non-profit Health and Educational Trust from 2001 to 2004. He became Associate Member (ACMA) in 2001 and Fellow Member (FCMA) in 2007 of ICMA-Pakistan. He joined FAST School of Management in 2007.
Dr Hanif is a graduate of the University of Punjab, B.COM 1993 and M.COM 1996. He completed his MS Finance in 2009, (Gold Medallist) and PhD Finance in 2014 (Thesis in the area of Islamic Capital Market) from International Islamic university Islamabad. He was nominated by University for HEC Best teacher award for 2012-13.
Dr Hanif has vast experience in financial and tax consultancy. His research areas include corporate finance, Earnings Management and Islamic Banking & Finance. His assignments on the jobs included, but not limited to, co-ordination, accounting system development, tax consultancy, development of Standard Operating Procedures, curriculum design, evaluation, conduct of seminar, internal audit and organizational development consultancy.
He has written 20 Research articles (15 Journal papers and 5 Conference papers). He has conducted 8 seminars and a workshop in the area of Islamic finance. His research area includes Asset pricing, market efficiency, Earnings Management and Islamic Banking & Finance.
Dr Hanif has supervised 20 final years project/thesis of MBA and BBA students. He has worked as reviewer for 6 journals including International Journal of Islamic & Middle Eastern Finance & Management, Journal of Economics and International Finance, Management Research Review, World Applied Sciences Journal, Journal of Islamic Marketing and British Journal of Economics, Management & Trade.
Dr Muhammad Hanif spent summer 2013, in Harvard University to attend a short course on reading and writing strategies and two conferences including a three days conference on emotional intelligence. As a part of research activities, he spent summer 2012, in Kent Business School, University of Kent at Canterbury, England, where he delivered an introductory seminar on Islamic Banking.
Dr Hanif has 12 years of professional/managerial and teaching experience at SCCBA, RIU, Bahria University, ICMA Pakistan and FSM National University. He is also author of two books published from Germany (2010) and USA (2012) in the area of Islamic finance.
