Currently serving as Vice Chancellor, University of veterinary and Animal Sciences, Lahore, Prof. Dr. Talat Naseer Pasha, is carrying the wealth of over 35 years of teaching, research and administration experience. Holder of DVM, MSc (Hons) in Nutrition, Dr. Pasha earned his doctorate (PhD) in Animal Nutrition from West Virginia University USA.
Professor Pasha has supervised 117 MPhil and 11 PhD students and published over 80 research papers in refereed scientific journals. He is the author of chapters of two international books and presented papers in many national and international conferences.
He was elected President of Asian Buffalo Association (2006-09) and was selected for HEC Best University Teacher Award for the year 2009 and Professional Development Training for Higher Education Leaders of Pakistan in March, 2011 in UK. He won thirteen research grants and currently conducting two research projects.
Dr. Pasha is amongst one of few whose research is linked with livestock and poultry industry. He is fellow of Animal Nutrition Society of India, Member, International Buffalo Federation Italy and Member of American Society of Animal Science. He has been working as consultant to GTZ, Livestock and Dairy Development Department/Board SMEDA, US Grain Council, IDRC Canada and World Bank.
Prof. Pasha is focal person for the establishment of Cholistan University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Bahawalpur. He is member of syndicate of GC University and University of Management and Technology, Lahore.
Dr. Pasha is Member Board of Governors, Member of Syndicate, Government College University, Lahore, Member of the Punjab Livestock and Dairy Development Board, Member University of Management and Technology (UMT), Lahore, Member Advanced Studies Research Board of University of Agriculture, Faisalabad, Member Institute of Industrial Biotechnology, Member Halal Development Council, Karachi, Member Punjab Halal Development Authority and Member Punjab Wildlife Management Board. He is also the member of Lahore Division Cattle Market Management Company.
Prof. Dr. Pasha is also the Fellow of Animal Nutrition Society of India, Member, International Buffalo Federation Italy and former President of Asian Buffalo Association, Member of American Society of Animal Science, USA, Member of International Goat Association, USA and Member of Editorial Board of three International Journals.
He had been conferred Sitara-i-Imitiaz civil award by the President Islamic Republic of Pakistan on Independence Day 2015 for his outstanding performance and excellence in the field of Veterinary Science.
