Prof. Dr. M. Zafar Iqbal Jadoon received his MPA and PhD degrees in Public Administration from the University of Southern California, Los Angeles, USA in 1988 and 1991 respectively. His first degree is in Public Administration from University of the Punjab. He is currently a Professor of Administrative Sciences at the University of the Punjab, Lahore. He is associated with this institution since 1979.
Dr. Jadoon has extensive administrative and leadership experience in the Higher Education Sector of Pakistan. He has been the Director of Institute of Administrative Sciences from 1999 to 2009. He has also been the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Management Sciences at Punjab University from 2005 to 2008.
Dr. Jadoon has served and continues to serve on a number of statutory and non-statutory bodies of the University of Punjab and other public and private sector universities. He has been the member of Syndicate of Punjab University and is a non-official member of the Selection Board of Bahuddin Zakariya University, Multan.
He is Chairman of National Curriculum Committee of Public Administration and a member of Higher Education Commission of Pakistan’s Committee for Development of Humanities and Social Sciences. He has recently been appointed as a non-official member of Board of Governors of Government Science College, Lahore.
Dr. Jadoon is a member of various professional and research organizations including American Society of Public Administration (ASPA), Academy of Management (AoM), British Academy of Management (BAM), International Research Society of Public Management IRSPM), and Governance Education Network (GEN), Pakistan. He is a founding member of International Chapter of ASPA and Chairman of its Program Committee. He is chairing the GEN’s Committee on Governance Curriculum.
His research interest is in the area of governance and management of public sector organizations. He is currently conducting a national survey of autonomous bodies in Pakistan in collaboration with European Group of Public Administration (EGPA).
He has published papers in his areas of expertise with particular focus on human resource management, organizational analysis, and public administration education. He has lectured at University of Southern California, University of Stirling, and Herriot-Watt University, Edinburgh. He has worked as National Management Consultant for British Council, Islamabad in National Education Assessment System’s project funded by the World Bank.
He has done consulting work for several other national and international agencies including, Ministry of Finance Government of Pakistan, Planning and Development, Government of Punjab, and UNESCO.
