Parents always want the best for their children so when Muzaffar Hussain Yousaf's mother said that she would particularly like him to become an accountant he knew that she had his best interests at heart. However the shift toward the professions requires great effort but the will to succeed was there for Mr Yousaf and his family.
The journey from Mian Channu to a thriving Glasgow accountancy practice has been a long one but Mr Yousaf can be sure that his mother must now be proud of her son's achievements in succeeding in her wishes.
Mr Yousaf was born in Mian Channu and arrived in 1964 in Glasgow. He came to join his father who had come from Kuwait in 1961 and was working at the Sewing Machine Company. His father worked hard to help his children achieve the standard of education necessary to gain better future employment.
His eldest son, Muzaffar Hussain Yousaf, attended the Garnethill Primary School, then the Belhouston Academy, and then, in 1977, gained a degree in accountancy and finance at Edinburgh's Heriot Watt University. After graduating he worked for two years in an accountancy firm and then for a further two years in partnership with Salim Akmal & Co; before establishing his own practice. It had always been his aim to establish his own business and fulfill his mother's ambitions.
Now Mr Yousaf is trying to help two of his brothers to also establish themselves in an accountancy practice and to ensure that his mother's wishes are fulfilled three times over!
Safdar Hussain Yousaf already has his own accountancy practice while the youngest brother, Harris Hussain Yousaf is intelligent and ambitious and will, his brother believes, succeed.
Mr Muzaffar Hussain Yousaf has ensured that his mother's dream now lives on in the lives of three of her sons and he hopes to ensure that he can encourage ambition and drive in his own children to ensure that his mother's good wishes are secured for future generations.
Aside from his business activities he also has time to take an interest in football, badminton, tennis and table tennis.
