Noman Tahir oversees business development and communications at Fajr Capital Group, a leading principal investments firm whose shareholders include sovereign and private investors from the GCC and ASEAN regions. Prior to Fajr Capital, Noman was responsible for defining and executing Al Jazeera Network’s brand and media strategy within specific target markets, including: the United States, United Kingdom, Turkey and the Balkans. His work ensured that the Network’s coverage of the Arab Spring led to strategic breakthroughs and culminated in global plaudits from the Royal Television Society and the Roosevelt Institute’s Four Freedoms Award.
Noman graduated from the University of Glasgow with a MA (Hons) in Economics, and is an Alumnus of the U.S. Department of State’s prestigious International Visitor Leadership Programme. During his time at university, Noman worked for the First Minister of Scotland in the House of Commons and received the Sunday Mail and Lloyds TSB Young Scot Award for Democracy and Citizenship.
He is regularly interviewed by national and international media on matters pertaining to economic and human development, and has served on the Board of Directors of several NGOs. He is currently a Director of YouthSchool – a UK-based NGO which develops community focused solutions to empower young people in the developing world.
