Rahila Bano is an award winning news journalist. She is a Senior Broadcast Journalist working for the BBC Asian Network. Her present role is as a radio reporter covering the North West of England. She has also carried out several foreign assignments, these included visits to Spain and also to Pakistan to cover the Bob Woolmer story, Misbah Rana court case and aftermath of the Kashmir earthquake.
She was previously head of the BBC Northwest (Greater Manchester & Lancashire) Asian radio programming Unit in Blackburn where she produced and presented Asian radio programmes. She has also worked as the Asian Affairs Correspondent for regional television news Northwest Tonight.
In her spare time Rahila acts as compere at prestigious business and social events. These have included the Manchester, Lancashire and Oldham Asian Business Dinner and Awards ceremonies.
