Combining an active communal, social and political life with demands of a successful working life is a balance that is difficult to achieve. However there are many Pakistanis who have achieved this balance and have excelled in both fields through their exuberance, vitality and understanding.
One such person is Shahid Choudhary who was born in Mian Channu, Pakistan in 1972. He graduated from M.A.O. College, Lahore and moved to UK in 1997 where he attended Glasgow University for higher studies. He completed his professional education from Glasgow College of Building & Printing.
After completing his education he established a printing and publishing business in Glasgow’s Allison Street. Interestingly Shahid Choudhary is also a great Islamic Art Calligrapher and he has held many national and international exhibitions. His art work is not for sale but goes only to raise funds for charitable organizations. In the last two exhibitions alone his work was sold for more than £10,000 for charities. He is member of several welfare organizations.
Shahid Choudhary also gained an Interpreter Diploma in Public Service Interpreting (D.P.S.I.) and has been working as interpreter in Local Government Sector (Glasgow City Council) for the last seven years.
