Waheed Qaiser has over 28 years’ of banking experience, having held senior management positions at Citibank NA, HSBC, Islamic Investment Banking Unit and UBS AG. He was Course Director at the Executive Development Programme at the Institute of Islamic Banking and Insurance and a founding member of the Bank of England Working Party on Islamic Mortgages. Waheed has lectured extensively on Islamic Banking in the UK and abroad.
Waheed joined IBB in October 2003, as AGM – Head of retail banking initially to establish the retail banking capability, but in January 2005 was appointed Director of Private Clients, a separate business division being established to provide discreet retail banking services to the High Net Worth consumer.
Waheed is considered a pioneer in Islamic Banking in Europe having been involved in the Islamic mortgage (Ijara based) offering and then in the establishment of Islamic Bank in UK. Waheed comes from Islamabad, Pakistan.
