Waqqas Mir is a law graduate from University of London, and earned his LLM from Harvard Law School, USA (Fulbright Scholar). He is an Advocate of the High Court, a Barrister of Lincoln’s Inn and a partner at the Mohsin Tayebaly & Co. (MTC). He is based in Lahore office.
Prior to joining MTC, Waqqas was a partner at another Lahore-based firm and has also previously served as a Joint Director at the Competition Commission of Pakistan. Waqqas regularly advises and represents the private sector as well as government institutions on a broad range of adversarial and non-adversarial matters.
On the litigation side, his expertise relates to civil, commercial / banking, intellectual property law, company law, regulatory law, competition law and constitutional law litigation.
Waqqas also has a significant amount of experience working on commercial transactions and he regularly advises corporate clients on matters relating to mergers and acquisitions, regulatory compliance, securitization of loans, public procurement and due diligence.
