Zahoor Ahmad Niazi was born on the 1st January 1945 in Kohat. After getting his primary education in Kohat, Mr Niazi moved to Karachi in 1954 for his further education. In 1964, he graduated from Islamia College and then gained his MA from Karachi University in 1968.
While studying at Karachi University Mr Niazi also worked for The Daily Hurriyet and then after completing his education he joined Daily Jasarat in 1970. He worked for various other newspapers in Pakistan before taking a major decision to move to Britain on 19th April 1981 where he was offered the editorship of Daily Millat - London, but in just three months’ time publication of the Daily Millat was ceased due to a defamatory case which was already in the court when Mr Niazi joined the publication.
After the cessation of Daily Millat - London, Mr Niazi, worked for Centre for Pakistan Studies and Pakistan Press International, before joining The Daily Jang - London in 1983, where in 1992, he was appointed as editor, the job he loved to do and continued to do so till retirement.
Mr Niazi believes that our community has achieved a great deal economically but, he believes, they need to invest time and effort into our children’s future. They are daily living within the European culture outside the house, but it is the duty of the parents to spend more time with the children to educate them and make them aware of their culture and religion. Mr Niazi believes that our print as well as electronic media should also double their efforts to educate our younger generation.
