London: Pakistan's government has launched two new digital services at its High Commission in London. These services aim to simplify property and passport tasks for Pakistanis living in the UK. The initiatives include a digital land record platform and a streamlined passport processing system.

Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar inaugurated the services. He fulfilled a promise made by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif at the Overseas Pakistanis Convention in April. The land record system allows users to access property documents in Punjab remotely. This platform offers sale deeds, Fard (Record of Rights), mutation entries, and document attestation.

The land record service uses blockchain technology. This ensures transparency and reduces fraud risks. Currently, a dedicated desk at the High Commission manages the pilot phase. Officials plan to expand the service to other Pakistani consulates across the UK soon.

At the same time, the Directorate General of Immigration and Passports launched the One Window Passport Processing System. This system combines multiple steps into one counter, cutting application times to around 10 minutes. It also aims to reduce queues and increase transparency.

Deputy Prime Minister Dar praised these digital services. He said they protect diaspora rights and encourage investment. He also thanked all departments involved, including the Punjab Land Revenue Authority, NADRA, and the High Commission in London. These initiatives mark a big step toward better service for overseas Pakistanis.
